This module was created as part of a university orientation program to introduce new students to the importance of understanding, accepting, and celebrating diverse identities on campus.
Background
College often becomes the first space where individuals encounter diversity on a broader scale. Without proper understanding, this diversity can lead to prejudice or exclusion. PeaceGeneration developed this module in response to the need for a learning environment that promotes tolerance, inclusion, and self-awareness of social identity.
Objectives
Help new students understand the concepts of identity and diversity more deeply
Encourage personal reflection on individual and social identities
Foster openness and empathy toward differences on campus
Create a safe space for discussion and exploration of diversity-related topics
